Public asked to nominate Bermuda's 100 outstanding women

Bermuda will honour 100 women who have helped shape the Island's community for International Women's Day this year.The project, known as 100 Women 100 Vision, aims to highlight the leadership and accomplishments of women since 1911.It was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day this March 8.In particular the project is looking to highlight women who furthered equal rights or helped create a broader more inclusive community on the Island.The International Women's Network Outstanding Service Award Committee will pick Bermuda's 100 women from nominations made by the public.The women selected will be honoured at the Bermuda National Gallery on March 8 with a display. A commemorative hardbound book will also be made with their photos and biographies by 2012.Bermuda's women will receive global recognition and be featured on the International Women's Day website and the Women's Information Network website for the yearl For applications call Deborah Bradford at 294 9734 or e-mail dbbradford@gov.bm.
