Weather causes Bermuda flight cancellations

This satellite image provided by NOAA and taken today at 10:45 EST shows a huge swath of the United States affected by a winter storm that has already brought layers of dangerous ice and blowing snow, closing roads and airports from Texas to Rhode Island. The storm's more than 2,000-mile reach threatened to leave about a third of the nation covered in a hodge-podge of harsh weather. Ice fell first and was expected to be followed by up to two feet of snow in some places.

Flights between Bermuda and the northeast US have been cancelled today as another in a series of winter storm batters the region.Continental Airlines flights 1657 and 1660 to and from Newark have been cancelled, and the LF Wade International Airport website, www.bermudaairport.com, has listed American Airlines flight 1378 and Jet Blue flights 1731 and 1732 to and from New York as cancelled.A spokeswoman for Continental Airlines advised all passengers to contact their airlines in order to get updated information, and rebook flights if necessary.
