Wanted for TV: An ?extreme? home
Houses shaped like a giant goose complete with a large orange beak, a house built inside a cave or perched in a tree, or a house constructed entirely from parts of a train. There is even a house that floats, but is not a boat.
These are some of the houses that have passed the ?extreme? grade and appeared on the US cable channel Homes and Gardens Television (HGTV) show ?World?s Most Extreme Homes?.
With their sights set on Bermuda, producers are optimistic they?ll find an ?extreme? house somewhere in Bermuda and are inviting homeowners to contact them.
Director Becky Lee told the website A Limey in Bermuda.com recently that they would be visiting some of the most prestigious and unusual architectural and design works in the world and would be talking to owners behind these amazing homes.
?We will be filming homes all over the world. Homes that are different, unique stylish and most importantly have someone living there who is passionate about where they live,? she said.
Some examples that the producers have so far include lighthouses, castles, tree-houses, windmills, ultra contemporary, amazing features including inside waterfalls, or just unusual in some way with a bit of a ?wow? factor.
She said they were looking for homes that they could film for a day, including interviews with the owner about the property.
Filming starts next month through April and the team would focus on each house for no more than seven minutes.
Since they?ll be using different homes from different countries in each episode on HGTV, they would need to film more than one house in each country.
She said they had already found one home in Bermuda and were now on the lookout for another.
So if you think you?re home is ?extreme? or just unique because the neighbours can?t keep up with your contribution towards the neighbourhood, then you can contact Ms Lee at becky.leepioneertv.com
