Police: Secure your homes
With 14 break-ins on Tuesday, Police are urging the public to take extra precautions in securing their homes.
With incidents taking place during the day, Police say all doors and windows should be locked before residents leave their homes.
Problems areas appear to be Shelton Road and Happy Valley Road in Pembroke and Middle Road and North Shore Road in Devonshire.
Pembroke man assaulted
A 26-year-old Pembroke man was assaulted during an attempted robbery on Tuesday night.
The robbery took place at 10.30 p.m. on Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke. The victim was jumped from behind by two men and struck in the head causing him to fall to the ground.
One of the attackers held the man down while the other searched his pockets for money.
After the Pembroke man convinced the attackers that he had no money the two men walked towards Hamilton.
The suspects are described as two black men and both are approximately 6ft tall. The Pembroke man was sent to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after suffering minor injuries.

Jewellery taken from home
Almost 80 pieces of gold and silver jewellery were taken from a Shelton Road, Pembroke home on Monday.
A blue Panasonic Handyman digital recorder and Nintendo Gameboy were also stolen. Anyone with information is asked to call the Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
Woman confronts intruder
A tan purse containing $30 and personal items was taken from a Rosehill Drive, St. George's residence on Tuesday.
A woman inside the home said she heard sounds coming from the living room and confronted the intruder, described as a dark-skinned male with a moustache, 5ft 8in tall and of medium build.
