Man hospitalised after crash
Police are appealing for witnesses to a motorcycle crash on South Road, Southampton which has left a man in stable condition last night.
The 33-year-old Southampton man was traveling west near the junction with Cross Bay Road when he apparently lost control and collided with the curb around 9.40 p.m. Sunday. Any witnesses are asked to contact the Traffic Enforcement Unit at 299 4265.
Yacht Never Enough forced to turn back
A yacht that suffered mast damage off the coast of Bermuda was towed on the last leg of its route to safety when its engine failed just off St. George?s.
The 28-foot sailboat set sail for Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands on Saturday. At 6 p.m on Sunday the experienced crew radioed Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre saying the vessel was 30 miles off Bermuda, having suffered severe mast damage.
made it back almost all the way to Spit Buoy, just off St. George?s when its engine failed. A pilot brought the yacht the rest of the way in, and it arrived at 7 a.m yesterday.
Driver questioned over accident
A man has been detained by Police on suspicion of impaired driving after his car was extensively damaged when it collided with a wooden guard rail on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Rose Hill Road.
The 24-year-old Southampton man appears to have lost control at a bend in the road as he was travelling east around 3.15 a.m. on Saturday, according to Bermuda Police Service.
The man sustained a minor cut to the right side of his face and was treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
When he was released from hospital he was taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained on suspicion of impaired driving. Further inquiries into the incident are underway.
Laptop stolen from Paget home
A laptop computer has been stolen from a house in Paget.
Police were called to a reported burglary at Southcourt Avenue, Paget. The break-in happened overnight last Tuesday.
Police probe two Warwick break-ins
Two burglaries in Warwick on the same day are under investigation by Police. Someone entered a Tribe Road Number Two house between 9.45 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Monday and stole a Canon DVD camcorder and camera bag and accessories as well as jewellery.
On the same afternoon someone broke into a home in Tearoom Hill and took jewellery and $100 cash sometime between 12.30 p.m. and 2.15 p.m.
Bermuda Police Service is investigating both incidents.
