Halloween incidets on the rise
Fears are growing over a resurgence of rowdy behaviour at Halloween after several reports of attacks on vehicles over the weekend.
There were eight missile attacks on vehicles ? mostly eggs. Locations included Boaz Island, Hamilton parish, North Shore Road, Barrack Hill, Abbot?s Cliff, Bulls Head Hill and Cedar Hill.
Police warn culprits will be arrested and will face prosecution.
Shoplifter caught
Police said a shoplifter used a green taxi as a getaway car after he was chased out of a Front Street shop for stealing two suede and leather handbags.
On Saturday, the suspected shoplifter was seen running out of A.S. Cooper?s with the handbags at 11.50 a.m.
?The man was pursued by staff; however, he was able to make good his escape by getting in a green taxi parked in the area which sped off,? Police said.
But at 2.20 p.m that day Police arrested a 42-year-old St. George?s man at Ballast Point, St. George?s under suspicion of shoplifting. Police inquiries into this incident were underway.
Boat engine stolen from dock
A thief stole a HP Yamaha boat engine and two fluorescent lights from a dock house in Harrington Sound Road, Smith?s property sometime this month.
Murder trial could be delayed
A murder trial due to start on November 2 could be delayed due to a wrangle between the crown and the defence over disclosure of evidence.
Andre Hypolite, 34, who is accused of killing Nicholas Anthony Dill in Warwick last Boxing Day and of unlawfully wounding Stacy Anne Pike, will return to court tomorrow. Puisne Justice Norma Wade Miller will hear prosecutors and Hypolite?s lawyer, Shade Subair after they discuss the matter.
