BFAB offers pet-ID
To put a stop to stray cats the Bermuda Feline Assistance Bureau (BFAB) want photographs for a new pet-ID scheme.
Close to 100 animals go missing every year in Bermuda and many more end up homeless due to neglect or lack of caring, BFAB spokeswoman Pat Carfoot said. Cat-owners can currently use the ?cats 911? section of the BFAB web-site, which yesterday had postings of two lost kitties, a Manx cat found last month at Southdown Farm and a ?tail-less Tabby? at the SPCA.
The pet-ID cards will be made as part of International Homeless Animals Day, she said, and will contain pictures of pets which can also be posted on the web-site. BFAB will be offering ID card vouchers at the Bermuda National Library on Saturday.
?As part of the service, BFAB will be scheduling free digital photo shoots in the coming months at the vet?s offices in order to provide good visual identification of your pet,? Ms Carfoot said.
