A 48-year-old guest worker has died in an industrial accident, Police said this afternoon.

A Police spokesman said that at 12.50 p.m. yesterday officers were called to an industrial accident at an Appleby Lane, Paget residence. The Government Health and Safety Officer also attended the scene.

The spokesman said: “It appears that the victim, a 48-year-old Malaysian man, was working on a ladder inside a building on the premises when he fell approximately 15 feet to the ground.

“He was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of serious chest and head injuries; however he was subsequently pronounced dead by an on call physician at 8.40 p.m. No further information will be released until the next of kin have been notified.”
