Government’s Health Insurance Plan (HIP) will be accessible to all seniors in the New Year.

A press release was issued by the Ministry of Health this evening. The plan will be offered as of January 4.

The Ministry said the offer was possible through the passage of the Health Insurance (No. 2) Amendment Act earlier this month.

Health Minister Walter Roban said he was pleased Government was able to offer an “affordable option” to private insurance.

He said: “The Government recognised a need and made it a priority to address that need.”
