Assistant Commissioner of Police Mike Jackman was today named Bermuda’s new Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Government House announced the promotion this afternoon.

It is expected Mr. Jackman will assume his new role on December 16, after Police Commissioner George Jackson retires.

“Mr. Jackman has served with distinction in the Bermuda Police Service for 27 years and has the confidence of his colleagues, both senior officers and junior officers,” a press release stated.

“His oversight and direction of the Bermuda Police Service’s Community Policing, which is getting into its stride, has been commendable and shows real promise.”
