Breaking News: Man charged with attempted murder

A 31-year-old Sandys man appeared in Magistrates’ Court today charged with the shooting and attempted murder of Nathan Darrell last Saturday.

The accused, Quincy Brangman was not asked to enter a plea as the offence is indictable.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner charged Brangman with one count of attempting to cause the death of Nathan Darrell and one count of using a firearm to commit an indictable offence.

When asked by Mr. Warner if he had a lawyer or wanted duty counsel, Brangman replied: “I don’t need no lawyer.”

Prosecutor Cindy Clarke told the court that the offence allegedly took place at 2:15 a.m. near the victim’s home in Sandys. The court heard that Mr. Darrell, who is still in hospital, was shot three times.

Brangman was remanded in custody and the matter was adjourned until March 2 for mention in Plea Court.
