Breaking News: Person in custody in connection with gun murder

Police this afternoon revealed that one person is in custody in connection with the murder of Perry Puckerin.

A statement from Detective Chief Inspector Nicholas Pedro said the Serious Crime Unit is actively pursuing leads in the investigation into the murder of Mr. Puckerin Jr.

“A team of officers continues to actively pursue all leads, and three arrests have been made. Two persons have been bailed and one remains in Police custody at this time,” the statement said.

“A number of exhibits have been seized and analysis of these items is underway. The investigating team is encouraged with the help provided by witnesses to this incident, and others in the community, and some useful information has been received.”

Mr. Puckerin was shot dead at the Hamilton Parish Workman’s Club on Sunday, January 3. His was the fourth gun murder in a month and the fifth since May last year.

Det. Chf. Insp. Pedro added: “Officers are anxious to speak with any member of the public that saw any person or incident that may have raised any suspicion or that were seen in the areas between Hamilton Parish Workman's (Crawl) Club, and Ducks Puddle, Hamilton Parish between 8 p.m. and 10.30 p.m. that night.

“Of particular interest to the investigating team is a person or persons dressed in a hooded sweat top that were seen in the vicinity of the Hamilton Parish Club, Radnor Estate Road, My Lord’s Bay, and Rocky Lane.”

Police say anoyone contacting the Serious Crime Unit can be assured of absolute confidentiality, and measures will be taken to protect their identity.
