A large number of US counterfeit $50 notes are circulating the Island after being passed at nightclubs in the City of Hamilton, Police warned today.

Bermuda Police Service are investigating the matter and have urged merchants to look out for US $50 notes with the serial number GF50643268A.

A press conference this afternoon was told the new Bermuda banknotes have security features giving the Island’s currency the highest level of protection.
