Three people were this afternoon being questioned by Police investigating reports of men in possession of firearms in a parking lot on Court Street.

A Police spokesman said officers were called to the scene at 2.25 p.m. today with a number of searches in the area carried out.

He added: “As a result, three men are in custody assisting Police with this inquiry however, no firearms were recovered.

“This incident is under active investigation anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 2950011or the independent body, Crime Stoppers on 8008477 (tips).”
