Regiment nabs delinquent soldier
Kwame Christopher Caisey was yesterday released on $5,000 bail after denying a charge in Magistrates? Court of unlawfully wounding a woman.
Caisey, of Middle Road, Southampton, was required to have one surety.
However, Bermuda Regiment officers were waiting in court to take custody of Caisey as soon as he left the courtroom. A Regiment spokesman said Caisey was taken into custody because he failed to show up for the January recruitment camp.
He went on to say ?appropriate military disciplinary action? has been taken against Caisey, but would not specify what those actions were.
Caisey appeared before Magistrates? Court for an incident that allegedly took place on May 29 at the woman?s residence in Sandys.
Caisey is required to check in with Police every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 8 a.m and 8 p.m. and is banned from getting into contact with the alleged victim.
He will appear in court on June 16.
