If you woke up on Wednesday morning with a view of Dockyard, it would have been hard to miss the 70,000 ton mega-cruise ship, Legend of the Seas.

The ten-year-old palatial floating hotel caters for up to 2,076 passengers, 720 crew members and, according to cruise operator Royal Caribbean, has more entertainment per square inch than any other cruise ship afloat.

The ship'sentertainment theatre has 802 seats, while the casino (which does not operate while she's docked in Bermuda) has slots, dice and all the requisite card tables.

There is also a rock-climbing wall, theme bars and lounges with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, shopping centres and even an 18-hole miniature golf course.

The ship is 867ft long and has a cruising speed of 24 knots.

The one-day stop-over in Bermuda is unusual for the Legend and unfortunately a one-off trip as she specialises in transatlantic cruises to western Europe and the western Caribbean.

She left at 6 p.m. on Wednesday night.
