Four hurt in crash
Weekend traffic had to be diverted off Middle Road in Warwick after four people were hurt in a two-car collision.
The accident happened near the junction of Burnt House Hill at about 10.40 a.m. on Saturday.
A Police spokesman said it appeared that a white Daihatsu Charade, driven by a 20-year-old Devonshire man, attempted to negotiate a right hand bend and lost control.
The vehicle crossed into the other lane and was in collision with a white Mazda heading in the opposite direction.
Police said that both vehicles received extensive front end damage in the crash The Mazda driver, a 39-year-old Sandys woman, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for neck pain treatment. Two of her passengers, a 73-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl, had minor injuries. The third passenger, a five-year old Sandys parish girl, was not apparently injured, Police added.
The Devonshire man suffered minor forehead cuts. He was taken to hospital, treated and later released. He was due to appear in court in connection with dangerous driving and driving without a seatbelt allegations. His car was also impounded.
Traffic was diverted away from the scene for about an hour following the collision.
