Two-thirds of respondents to a online poll say discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation should be banned.
The unscientific poll, which ran on www.theroyalgazette.com from Monday until Thursday, saw exactly 66 percent of the 1,204 say yes to the question: ?Should discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation should be banned.?
Two weeks ago, the House of Assembly voted against an amendment to the Human Rights Act brought by Government backbencher Renee Webb. The debate drew controversy when only one other MP ? Nelson Bascome ? spoke on the amendment before it was rejected on a voice vote. A total of 31.4 percent of respondents said no to the question while 2.6 percent said they did not know.
