Man injured in serious accident
Another serious accident happened on Bermuda's roads yesterday evening at around 7.35 p.m. when a 43-year-old Warwick man suffered serious head injuries.
The man was on a motorcycle travelling west on Harbour Road, just past the Lower Ferry dock in Paget, when he was involved in a collision with a car travelling in the opposite direction.
A reporter from The Royal Gazette was at the scene shortly afterwards, where it appeared from the positioning of the bike and car that the bike travelled more than a meter after the collision took place. A helmet lay near a pool of blood approximately two meters further down the road from where the bike lay.
Both the Police and the Bermuda Fire Service attended the scene, and a Police spokesman said last night: "The rider of the motorcycle sustained serious head injuries and was taken to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment in the Intensive Care Unit. However, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The driver of the car was not injured."
The collision caused a portion of Harbour Road to be shut down for more than an hour. Traffic was also backed up on Middle Road past the Trimingham Hill roundabout.
