'The poor are getting poorer'
Still only 22, Robin is the main breadwinner in her three-person household — yet she earns just $15 an hour working on Government's hustle truck.
Since leaving school she has had a variety of jobs including working at Parks, painting, roofing and stints in the catering trade.
She's relatively upbeat about her life but living on just $500 a week puts a strain on the family income.
Her aunt is disabled and brings in a few dollars packing groceries while her mom has been kicked off financial assistance because of addiction problems.
"I do other little hustles on the side — baby sitting, cleaning houses," she said.
"I am not fully insured. My mother is sickly with diabetes and I have to take care of her."
All Robin (not her real name) really wants is a job at Marine and Ports or Works and Engineering but her inquiries have not yet paid off and she's not sure if she's even on the waiting list.
"I don't have a problem making time," she said.
"I am satisfied but I am not happy with my life — I can always do better with a steady income working five days a week."
But her life reflects a picture of Bermuda you will never see in the guide books.
"This Country is going downhill. Prices are going up and the poor are getting poorer."
And she doesn't feel like the politicians have any answers.
"I am not voting — I don't feel any reason to."
In order to get her vote the parties will have to provide more jobs, better housing and lower rents but so far nothing has caught her eye.
"The parties don't care. It's the same thing repetitively — over and over."
