Bail for man accused of woundingA Hamilton Parish man faced wounding charges yesterday more than a year after the alleged incident took place.Mario Pascoe, of Cottage Hill Road, was not required to enter a plea for the six counts because the matter must be heard in Supreme Court. The 24-year old was charged with between September 24 and 25, 2006 in St. George's, wounding Robert Fabian with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, assaulting Mr. Fabian with intent to rob him, unlawfully assaulting Mr. Fabian and using threatening words.

A Hamilton Parish man faced wounding charges yesterday more than a year after the alleged incident took place.

Mario Pascoe, of Cottage Hill Road, was not required to enter a plea for the six counts because the matter must be heard in Supreme Court. The 24-year old was charged with between September 24 and 25, 2006 in St. George's, wounding Robert Fabian with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, assaulting Mr. Fabian with intent to rob him, unlawfully assaulting Mr. Fabian and using threatening words.

The matter was adjourned for mention in January. The defendant was bailed in the amount of $5,000 with one surety.

Post Office extends hours

The Post Office has extended its hours for the Christmas holiday to help customers collect and send mail and parcels.

The General Post Office and all sub-post offices, with the exception of Perot and Bailey's Bay, will open this Saturday and on December 22 from 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. Mail will also be delivered during this time.

Reminder: Christmas Eve is a regular work day

Government Offices will be open as usual on Christmas Eve.

The Government has received several inquiries from the business community regarding opening hours for Government offices on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve is considered a normal business day and Government offices will be open for business from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Top boat on display

The winner of the "Best Boat Overall" prize, Pirate, in Saturday's Boat Parade, will be on display at the Number One Shed in Hamilton until the New Year.

Hamilton mayor Sutherland Madeiros said: "On behalf of the Corporation of Hamilton, I would like to congratulate John Carr of the MarketPlace on their winning entry and extend my appreciation to everyone who took part in Saturday's Boat Parade.

"It was a fun evening that enabled a broad-cross section of the population to come together in the Christmas spirit.

"I hope those people who did not have the opportunity to watch the Boat Parade will visit the winning display at the Number One Shed over the next few weeks."
