* The total number of UK troops killed in operations in Iraq is 120. The latest death was on Friday (October 27) when a soldier died following a road accident just outside Shaibah Logistics Base near the city of Basra.
* The lives of 33 British soldiers were lost between the invasion of Iraq on March 20, 2003 and the end of major combat operations.
* Since March 2003, 43,380 Iraqi civilians have died; 2,776 US soldiers; 118 non-US and non-UK military and 77 journalists.
* Since June 2003, 5,556 members of the Iraqi security forces have been killed.
* UK military operations in Iraq are being conducted under the name Operation TELIC. UK forces in Iraq are a part of the United-States-led Multi-National Force - Iraq (or MNF-I). Twenty six other countries contribute to the force: Albania, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Estonia, Georgia, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Singapore, South Korea and the Ukraine.
* There are about 7,200 British and 145,000 US troops serving in Iraq.
