Breaking news: Man wounded in early morning shooting
A 22-year-old Warwick man is today in King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after being shot in the parking lot of the Paget Ice Queen early yesterday (Saturday) morning.
A Police spokesman said the wound, a shot to his torso, was not life-threatening.
The spokesman said Police responded at 3.41 a.m. to the report of gunshots in the Ice Queen area and said that the man, who has not been identified, was immediately taken to hospital.
He added: "The male suspect is described as 5ft 8in to 6ft and of slim build. He made good his escape on a motorcycle heading towards the City of Hamilton. Detectives have spoken to a number of witnesses who have given accounts of what happened. However, investigators still need to speak with anyone who has not yet spoken to the Police."
