Dead bodies identified
The Bermuda Police Service yesterday released the name of the 44-year-old man found lifeless at the bottom of home swimming pool in Smith's on Thursday as Robert John James.
His body was discovered by a family member. Mr. James was the son of former UBP Government Deputy Premier Dr. Clarence James.
Police are investigating the incident and have extended their sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased man.
Police also yesterday named the 77-year-old man whose body was found floating in Hamilton Harbour on Thursday at around 11 a.m. by a passing boater.
His name is Ernest Pitt of Devonshire. Inquiries are ongoing. Police have also expressed their condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Pitt.
And while Police say that foul play has not been ruled out in both incidents, it appears the deaths were not suspicious.
Police also moved to quash rumours that Mr. Pitt's body was found headless, with a spokesman last night describing it as a "nasty, unverified rumour" that was put over radio airwaves on Thursday.
