Four men admit fighting charges in Supreme Court
Four young men admitted getting into a fight on Reid Street when they appeared at Supreme Court yesterday.
Dwyia Victor Blyden, 20, Jahki Dillas, 22, Quan-Marley Derrick Lowe, 21, and Dejean Clinard Smith, 24, pleaded guilty to affray in relation to the incident on March 11.
In addition, Dillas admitted possessing a bladed article and attempting to cause Jahdel Rogers grievous bodily harm.
The other three pleaded not guilty to wounding Mr. Rogers with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.
Director of Public Prosecutions Rory Field told the court he would not offer any evidence on these counts.
No details about the nature of the altercation were given in court.
A fifth defendant, Maurico Mario Atkins, from Southampton, pleaded not guilty to affray and wounding with intent. Mr. Field said the Crown would not proceed with the case against him at this time.
Puisne Justice Charles-Etta Simmons adjourned the matter so pre-sentence reports can be completed on Blyden, from Smith's Parish, Dillas and Lowe, from Southampton and Smith, from Warwick.
Ordering them to appear before the court again on January 2, she warned them to stay out of trouble over the Christmas period.
