Police are investigating two deaths after the bodies of two men were found yesterday morning.

At about 8.10 a.m., Police were called to a house on Seamont Lane, in Smith's, where the body of a 44-year-old man had been found at the bottom of the home's swimming pool by a member of the family.

The Fire Brigade was called to drain the pool and the body was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

A Police spokesman said: "Foul play has not been ruled out, however, there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances at this time."

In the second incident, Police were called at 11.20 a.m. after the body of a man was seen floating in Hamilton Harbour, near Albouy's Point.

The Police spokesman said: "The body of the deceased, a 77-year-old Devonshire man, was found near Number One Shed by a passing boater. Marine Police officers attended the scene and recovered the body."

Again the Police said, although foul play had not been ruled out, there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

The Royal Gazette understands the residence where the first man was found is that of former United Bermuda Party Government Deputy Premier and Finance Minister Dr. Clarence James.

Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information should call the Marine Police on 295-0011.
