Mr. Walter Sinclair Brangman and his wife, Lovette, who have been married since August 7, 1958, decided that instead of receiving gifts, they would ask family and friends to make donations to Matilda Smith Williams Home. Close to 70 people responded to their request and donated a total of $3,250.

"The home is a very worthy cause because it looks after those who already made a contribution to society,'' said Mrs. Brangman who is executive treasurer of the home.

"This is our way of saying thank you to them for the toils that they have gone through so that we can enjoy what we have today.'' She added: "I hope this will be an example for others, especially the young, to follow.''
