Special service calls are humanitarian assistance calls other than fires like floodings, rescues, road traffic accidents and boat sinkings.

During the same month last year the Fire Service had received 77 calls. In September they were called to 11 structural fires, seven brush and three vehicle fires, while the emergency special services attended eight reported floodings, one gas cylinder leak, two road traffic accidents, two ambulance transports, one helicopter standby, one hazardous material incident and one refloating of a sinking boat.
