Glencoe Development Company Ltd., developer of the former Glencoe Harbour Club hotel, and contractor First Choice Construction Ltd. have failed to mutually agree to an arbitrator in their dispute.

Glencoe is attempting to recover costs associated with its completion of the project.

The Salt Kettle, Paget condominium site includes 13 completed units, 11 sold and two rentals.

The developer claims First Choice left the site prior to completion, forcing it to put together a finishing crew.

Glencoe finished the work earlier this month.

The project was originally scheduled to be completed in October 1995. January 15 was the final day First Choice was on site, Glencoe spokesman and an investor in the site, Allen Forrest said yesterday.

"On January 9, we will be asking a judge to appoint an arbitrator, because of failure to agree to a single arbitrator,'' Mr. Forrest said.

Three years ago it emerged that Glencoe Harbour Club owner Reggie Cooper was looking to sell the property.

The sale of the 41-room hotel made 43 staff redundant. At the time, it was reported that Mr. Cooper had been successful in placing some staff with other hotels.

First Choice owner Andre Curtis could not be reached.
