The accident happened around 1 p.m. on New Year's Eve near White's Supermarket on Middle Road, Warwick.

Police spokesperson Evelyn James Barnett said riders on two bikes, a red Honda Scoopy and a black Yamaha V80 collided and fell into the road.

"However, the rider of the red Scoopy abandoned the cycle and left the scene on another cycle,'' she added.

The rider of the Yamaha suffered a fractured left wrist and abrasions to his left hand. His bike received dents, scratches to the mirror, muffler, and the licence plate.

The front of the Scoopy was extensively damaged and the seat was ripped off.

Police are also investigating a two-vehicle accident which took place at 12.44 p.m. on New Year's Eve at the junction of Victoria and Court streets.

A 26-year-old woman, of Farm Lane, Warwick, suffered a sprained ankle after her black Peugot SV80 collided with a beige Mitsubishi Colt.

The woman's cycle also received extensive rear end damage while the car -- driven by a 58-year-old men from Sunset Strip, Pembroke -- had a cracked outside indicator lens.
