The victim was punched in the face and $40 was stolen during the incident at about 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

But Police have praised quick and efficient assistance by members of the public and an off duty Policewoman which led to the arrest of a 42-year-old Pembroke man only minutes after the robbery. He is expected to appear in court later this week.

Police have warned residents against leaving large sums of money in their homes following the theft of just under $3,000 from an Angle Street property.

Several homes were broken into over the weekend but the Angle Street burglary was the most costly.
