the murder of his uncle.

Randall Walker, 36, of Marsh Folly Rd, Pembroke, pleaded not guilty to murdering Brownlow Place, 56, at a house in Marsh Folly Road in October last year. Walker was remanded in custody for mention on March 3.

And Micah Straw, 19, of Palmetto Road, Devonshire, pleaded not guilty to attempting to murder Andre Rawlins in August last year.

Straw also pleaded not guilty to assaulting Mr. Rawlins with intent to cause him grievious bodily harm and another charge of causing Mr Rawlins grievious bodily harm.

He also denied having an offensive weapon -- a crowbar. Straw was remanded in custody for mention on March 3.

Lakeisha Burgess, 29, of Westwood Road, Paget, denied having diamorphine -- a heroin derivative -- between May and August 1995. She further denied supplying the drug and handling it with intent to supply.

The accused was released on bail for mention on March 3.

At the same hearing, Calvin Trott, 26, of St. Mark's Road, Smith's Parish, was charged with doing grievious bodily harm with intent to Mary Hinson.

Trott, who denied the charge, was remanded in custody for mention on March 3.

Also appearing was Winslow James Sheldon Mallory, charged with unlawfully wounding Leanne Lambert with intent to do grievious bodily harm on July 3 last year.

Mallory pleaded not guilty to the charge and also denied a further charge of unlawful wounding. He was released on bail of $1,500 pending a further appearance on February 3.

Kenneth Burrows admitted charges of robbing Edgar Bassett of $60 and assaulting him with intent to rob in September last year. The accused was remanded in custody for sentencing on January 10.

And Gilbert Simons, 29, Rockaway Lane, Southampton, denied setting fire to the charter fishing boat Challenger sometime between March 31 and April 3 last year.

Simons denied a further charge of conspiring to set the boat on fire between the same dates. Bail was continued pending a further appearance on March 3.
