The Base will be in the line of attack as aircraft swoop from an unlikely direction -- the United States.

But Bermudians need not run for cover, for it will be just an exercise.

The simulated airstrike will be carried out by the US 2nd Marine Corps Airwing.

Aircraft will include AV-8 Harriers, F/A-18s, EA-6Bs, and a KC-130 support plane.

The exercise starts at 3.15 p.m., and will last 30 minutes.

Base spokeswoman Ens. Anne Say said the aircraft would not cross any land other than the runway.
