prestigious appointment by a leading London law firm.

Mr. Adderley, 26, was called to the Bar last week by Pusine Judge the Hon.

Mrs. Justice Wade at a ceremony attended by family, friends, and attorneys.

He was proposed by lawyer Mr. Andrew Martin and tributes were paid by Crown Counsel Ms Sharon Kenny and Mrs. Elizabeth Jones of the Bermuda Bar Association.

Mr. Adderley, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Adderley of Pembroke, was educated at Saltus Junior School and at Sherborne in England.

He is married to London lawyer Mrs. Helen Adderley.

He graduated from the University of Bristol with an LLB Honours degree in Law in 1989, and studied for the Solicitor's Finals Exam at Guildford College of Law, which he passed in 1990.

Mr. Adderley trained at the London law firm Simmons and Simmons, and has just begun an appointment to the Financial Law Panel, headed by Lord Donaldson.

Mr. Adderley will be involved in drafting policy for the English financial law regulating system.

The panel is sponsored by the Bank of England and the Corporation of the City of London, and will act as an advisory body monitoring developments in London's wholesale financial market.
