week to build a $1.7 million cruise ship terminal for St. George's.

The project is expected to go out to tender by the end of next week with ground-breaking planned for mid-December.

The only condition of approval was that the entire site be landscaped within three months of completion of the terminal, which includes a 15,000-square-foot Customs building and dock on Ordnance Island.

The Government-funded terminal is being built in anticipation of the new St.

George's-only liner due to start calling next May.

Works and Engineering submitted the plans in September after the Corporation of St. George's and Preservation Authority approved it.

St. George's Mayor the Wor. Henry Hayward had said the terminal would be traditional in design and pastel coloured.
