Hundreds of dollars worth of fish were stolen during a break-in. Community Relations Officer Sgt. Roseanda Jones said: "It is believed that the culprit may have sold the fish posing as a genuine fisherman.'' Sgt. Jones added that anyone who may have bought fish in the St. George's area between Saturday and Monday should contact Det. Sgt. Crockwell at 297-1122.

Police are also investigating an incident in which a thief was caught stealing cash from a till in unoccupied offices at a service station on Middle Road, Southampton.

He was caught by the manager as he tried to leave the offices. The manager demanded the return of the money, the thief obliged and then made good his escape.

RUNAWAY FOUND CRM A 15-year-old runaway tried to make a break for it when he was spotted by Police after being listed as missing for 13 days.

Shawn Eve absconded from Observatory Cottage, on September 28. He had been placed there by the Social Services Department.

Police officers were carrying routine checks at business premises in Smith's on Monday evening, and found Eve at the rear of a building.

Police Community Relations Officer Sgt. Roseanda said: "The security door was open. On seeing Police, Shawn attempted to escape but was captured by uniformed officers.'' BIU AWARDS NIGHT AWD The Bermuda Industrial Union will honour its shop stewards at an awards night on October 21.

BIU president Mr. Ottiwell Simmons said the evening would include brief addresses from him and Opposition Leader Mr. Frederick Wade.

The awards night, the first of its kind, begins at 8 p.m. at union headquarters. There are about 300 shop stewards in the BIU.

BATHROOM BLAZE FIR Firefighters with breathing equipment were called to a blaze in the bathroom of a Southampton apartment early yesterday.

The fire, caused by an electrical fault in a heating fan, filled the home with smoke.

About $600 worth of damage was caused to the apartment, on Frolic Lane. Eleven firefighters arrived on the scene at around 2.15 a.m., equipped with a smoke extractor.
