Trevor Morain and Alvin Francois have denied conspiring to import cannabis between May 31 and June 19, importing cannabis between June 16 and 19, possession of cannabis intended for supply on June 18 and handling cannabis intended for supply on June 18.

They were charged with being concerned with a third man, who was not before the court.

Their trial was due to begin on Monday but was postponed so Crown Counsel Wilhelm Bourne and lawyer Archie Warner, who is representing Morain and Francois, could conduct a voir dire hearing on some of the evidence.

A nine woman-three man jury has been selected and was ordered to return to Supreme Court at 9.30 a.m. today.

TRIAL DATE SET FOR HEORIN TRIAL CTS Trial date set for heroin trial Ellsworth Eugene Wilson, who is charged with possession of diamorphine intended for supply and handling diamorphine intended for supply, will be tried in Supreme Court on May 21.

Wilson, of Mount Hill, Pembroke, is represented by Kim Wilson and has pleaded not guilty to both charges.

MAN ADMITS USING OFFENSIVE WORDS CTS Man admits using offensive words A 24-year-old man, left stranded on Tuesday evening in St. George's after a night of drinking with friends, yesterday pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to using offensive words in a public place.

Senior Magistrate Will Francis was told that at around 1.30 a.m. a Police officer was approached by a member of the public, who said there was a man in King's Square shouting and cursing.

The constable made his way to the Square and observed North Shore Road, Hamilton Parish resident Maurice J. Smith shouting. When Smith caught sight of the officer he moved off from the Square.

About ten minutes later Smith returned, shouting: "F*** all you people in St.

George's; I hate you.'' When cautioned by the officer Smith shouted back: "F***ing Barbadian cop, come to my country and tell me what to do.'' He was subsequently arrested and hustled off to St. George's Police station.

When asked for an explanation, Smith apologised and told Mr. King he was under the influence of alcohol. He was fined $200.

SANDYS MAN DENIES SEXUAL OFFENCE CTS Sandys man denies sexual offence A 35-year-old Sandys Parish man has denied accusations that he inappropriately touched a young person last autumn.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with being a person in a position of trust, touched another person some time between September 30 and October 18 of last year.

And he pleaded not guilty on Monday to the alternative charge that some time between September 30 and October 18 in Sandys, for sexual purposes he touched a part of a young person. Magistrate Edward King set the trial for August 21 and granted the man $2,500 bail.
