Ex-boxer banned from driving

the road for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to driving a car with more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.

Darrell, of Redkiln Road, Hamilton Parish, committed the offence on November 23 when Sgt. Earl Kirby, prosecuting, said Police were called to an accident on St. John's Road in Pembroke and saw a motor car moving erratically. Darrell was found to be the driver. He was unsteady on his feet and had to lean on the vehicle when he alighted.

A breathalyser test revealed he had 200 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood; the highest reading possible on the device.
