Zina Marie Minks, who held the Miss Bermuda title in 1980, pleaded guilty to the charge in Magistrates' Court.

Police saw Minks, 30, of Barrack Close, St. George's, in the Elliott and Court Street area shortly after 7.30 p.m. on October 6.

Prosecuting Sgt. Kenrick James said an officer saw Minks "exchange something'' with a man.

When they approached her she was seen to be clenching something in her left hand, Sgt. James added.

Minks tried to walk away when Police told her she would be searched.

"She was seen to put her hand to her mouth,'' Sgt. James said. "When she was asked what it was, she said it was a condom.'' Minks was searched at the Hamilton Police Station, but nothing was found.

She was last before the court on June 18 for obstruction.

Minks had nothing to say yesterday about the most recent offence.
