West, 26, of Mullet Bay Road, St. George's -- who was earlier this month charged with the premeditated murder of his estranged wife Rochelle Marcia West -- appeared before Magistrate the Wor. Cheryl-Ann Mapp for a standard mention.

Mrs. Mapp ordered him to return to court for another mention on February 7 when it was indicated that a trial date might be set.

West, who was remanded in custody, could face the death penalty if convicted.

Rochelle West was stabbed to death on January 5, at the Chamber of Commerce's Hamilton office where she worked as a receptionist.

WOMAN LANDS IN HOSPITAL AFTER FIGHT CRM Woman lands in hospital after fight Police were investigating a fight between two women which landed one of them in hospital.

The incident was believed to have occurred on Court Street last Sunday evening.

The victim, a 39-year-old Warwick woman, was allegedly hit on the head with a broken bottle.

She was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.

A 35-year-old Paget woman has been arrested in connection with the incident.

US VISITOR FINED $200 FOR CANNABIS CTS US visitor fined $200 for cannabis After admitting possession of cannabis, a US woman was fined $200 in Magistrates' Court.

Amy Crowley received the fine this week stemming from a Customs search at the Civil Air Terminal where officials found a plastic bag in her luggage which contained plant material determined to be cannabis.

At the time of the arrest, Crowley said: "I'm sorry, this is for my own personal use.'' The arrest occurred January 19, 1995.

TWO MEN ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES CTS Two men arrested on drug charges Police arrested two men in separate incidents for possessing drug equipment over the weekend.

A 39-year-old Pembroke man was arrested on Friday morning after he was found with drug equipment believed to be used with cocaine.

Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning said the arrest was made following a search of the suspect's residence.

On Friday evening, Police arrested a 34-year-old Pembroke man after searching him and finding drug equipment.

Both men were expected to appear in court in due course.

NEW CATEGORIES FOR ANNUAL EXHIBITION GVT New categories for annual exhibition Organisers of the 58th annual Agriculture Exhibition yesterday announced that there will be some changes in entry categories.

And they urged exhibitors to check the new categories catalogue at the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries' headquarters in the Botanical Gardens.

The Agriculture Exhibition will be held from April 20 through 22. This year's theme was selected to commemorate the 25th anniversary on Earth Day on April 22.

To incorporate the theme, recycled pots, such as yoghurt containers, coffee cans, and cottage cheese containers for miscellaneous and endemic potted plants will be used in the horticultural section.

Young exhibitors were also encouraged to participate in the new category called Recycled Designer Flowerpots.

A new junior showmanship class for horses and ponies has also been introduced.

Anyone interested in picking up the free catalogue and a newsletter outlining the detailed requirements can do so at the Agriculture Department's office.
