Man banned from driving for being impaired
after he pleaded guilty to impaired driving.
Maurice Pringle pleaded guilty before Senior Magistrate Will Francis yesterday to being almost three times over the limit of alcohol while driving on January 23.
Junior Crown counsel Cindy Clark said Pringle, 34, of Southampton, was watched by Police as he drove easterly on South Road at 9.40 p.m. on that day.
When he was stopped, Police noted his breath smelled strongly of alcohol and his eyes were glazed and red. He admitted he had drank two beers.
Pringle submitted to a breath sample and was found to have 224 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
Pringle was fined $500 for impaired driving, $900 and $500 for driving an unlicensed and uninsured car respectively. He was given to April 30 to pay.
