The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Senior Magistrate Will Francis and was charged with two counts of sexual assault.

He was also charged with intruding on the privacy of a woman in such a manner that was likely to offend her. He was not required to enter a plea.

Leighton Rochester appeared for the Crown and the man, who was not represented, was remanded in custody to appear before the court on January 20.

All the charges stem from an incident on Thursday, January 2, at a women's restroom at Albuoys Point, in Pembroke, and relate to a mother and her eight-year-old daughter.

TEEN STOLE THREE CASES OF LIQUOR CTS Teen stole three cases of liquor A social inquiry report was ordered on Friday for a 17-year-old Devonshire man who admitted stealing three cases of liquor from a North Shore nightclub.

Styles Furbert, who is unemployed and lives with his mother at Ocean Spray Close, pleaded guilty to breaking and entering the Clayhouse Inn on December 29 and stealing a case of Bacardi Breezers.

He also asked Senior Magistrate William Francis to take another matter into account -- the theft of two cases of beer from the same club earlier the same day.

Prosecuting, Sgt. Phil Taylor told the court that Furbert was on probation and a court ordered curfew when the offences were committed and said: "The soft hand does not seem to work with Mr. Furbert.'' Duty Counsel Sonia Grant said court must consider all possible alternatives to prison when sentencing a young person and asked for a social inquiry report.

Senior Magistrate Will Francis said reports would have been done on Furbert in the past but decided to order an updated report on him before he passed sentence.

He told Furbert to return to court on January 24 before releasing him on $500 bail with a like surety.

Magistrates' Court heard that Harvey Williams, 23, claimed he needed the cash for college when pulled up by US Customs officers.

Magistrate Edward King heard that when the accused was searched, a package containing the cash was found around his waist.

A draft for $3,000 in the name of Williams' mother Laverne was also found on him.

Mrs. Williams was jointly accused of trying to export the US cash without permission, but her plea of not guilty was accepted by the Crown.

Williams, who lives in the US, but whose address in court was given as First Avenue, Pembroke, admitted trying to take the cash out in breach of currency regulations on November 22.

Magistrate Edward King released Williams on bail of $1,000 on December 30 and ordered him to appear the following day for sentencing and a decision on what will be done with the cash.

MAN FINED $250 FOR DRUG EQUIPMENT CTS Man fined $250 for drug equipment Twenty-six-year-old Andrew Arorash was yesterday fined $250 after admitting possessing drug equipment.

Arorash, who is currently in Westgate serving a sentence for another offence, appeared before Senior Magistrate Will Francis.

Sgt. Phil Taylor, prosecuting, said that on July 26, last year, Arorash was spotted by uniformed Police officers acting suspiciously on Parliament Street.

Officers approached him and he was seen throwing something into the grounds around the Supreme Court.

Police found the pipe and Arorash admitted it was his, said Sgt. Taylor who added that the pipe tested positive for cocaine.

Arorash pleaded guilty to possessing drug equipment and was fined $250.

Antoine Fox was found sitting next to a packet of Rizla papers outside Meyer Travel Agency in St. George's on August 28, said Police prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor.

Police searched Fox and found .71 grams of cannabis in his pocket. Senior Magistrate Will Francis fined him $150 for the offence. He also fined Fox $200 for riding an unlicensed motor bike on another occasion.
