The 43-year-old man told Police he was assaulted shortly after 10 p.m. on Thursday at White Hill Field in Somerset.

The man was in the Somerset Bridge Recreation Club bar socialising with friends when his assailant broke a glass on the floor.

Police spokesperson Evelyn James Barnett said the man had just finished cleaning the mess up when the assailant allegedly slapped him for no reason.

The man claimed he walked outside the club to avoid a confrontation, but was followed by the assailant who then punched him in the mouth, knocking his front bottom teeth out.

A scuffle then erupted with the victim receiving scratches under his left eye.
