The court heard that at the time of the offences Tucker was in discussion about her daughter with the school's guidance counsellors.

Things reportedly became heated and Tucker pointed her finger in one counsellor's face, saying: "If you want to fight her, you have to deal with me.'' Tucker then slapped another counsellor in the face.

Magistrate Archibald Warner asked Junior Crown counsel Veronica Gordon what was the evidence on the behaving in a threatening manner charge. She said it was the pointing in the face of one of the guidance counsellors but later withdrew the charge.

On the common assault charge, Mr. Warner sentenced Tucker to be bound over for six months.

SATELLITE DISH STOLEN CRM Satellite dish stolen Police are investigating the theft of a television satellite dish from the garden of a home on Verdmont Lane, Smith's Parish.

Police said the dish, measuring about four feet and worth about $700, was stolen on Wednesday.

`FEW BEERS' COST $400 CTS `Few beers' cost $400 Riding after having "a few beers'' proved to be costly for a restaurant waiter.

Peter Thomas, 35, who works at the La Coquille restaurant, was stopped by Police in the early hours of May 7 on Trimingham Hill, Paget while riding an auxiliary cycle.

In Magistrates' Court, Junior Crown counsel Veronica Gordon said officers were carrying out routine checks on passing motorists when they noticed Thomas, of Harbour Road, Paget driving towards them.

He was stopped and questioned by the officers who noticed that he was driving erratically and smelled strongly of alcohol.

Although he said he had just had "a few beers'' he was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired and taken to Hamilton Police Station. A breath test showed Thomas to be more than one-and-a-half times over the legal drink drive limit.

Thomas was banned from driving all motor vehicles and also fined $400 by Senior Magistrate Will Francis.

TRANSPORT VIEW POLLED TRA Transport views polled Public input will play a key role when the new Transportation Planning Team meets to develop the National Transportation Management Plan.

A telephone survey was to be conducted this week.

Among the questions will be the hours that residents travel to work and their mode of transport. Opinions and solutions to transport issues will also be sought from those interviewed.

Transport Minister Ewart Brown also noted: "The survey data will provide us with valuable information on the travel patterns of commuters so we can create a transportation system that is responsive to their needs.'' Research Innovations Ltd. will be conducting the survey. Results are expected to be available by the end of June.
