Tropical Depression 5 and Tropical Depression 6 are unlikely to have any major effect on the Island according to forecasters at the US Naval Oceanography Command Facility.

The first depression is expected to come closest when it will be 182 nautical miles to the southeast at 3 p.m. today.

Even so forecasters are playing safe stating the storm could still be a potential threat to Bermuda.

A spokesperson said: "It is a potential threat because it is moving north west but its winds are only 30 to 40 knots which are no big deal to us. There may be a little rain.

"Tropical Depression 6 is moving well to the east of us. That is not a threat at this time.'' That depression is expected to get within 1,412 miles of the Island on Thursday at 3 p.m.
