Heads of households have been reminded they must write down names of all persons in their property on January 15, 1997.

The forms should also include names of students or anyone overseas for business or medical treatment.

A person is eligible to register as a voter if he is a resident Bermudian by birth or by grant and is 18 or will be that age by June 16, 1998.

A small number of Commonwealth citizens on the Bermuda voters list on May 1, 1976, are also eligible.

A Government spokesman said 35,185 people were registered during the 1996 registration drive. About 38,000 people were eligible to vote, he added.

He pointed out some 2,000 voters were placed in different constituencies last year following the Report of the Boundaries Commission.

"These voters are reminded, however, that the new boundary changes do not come into effect until a general election is called. Until that time, registration will be based on existing constituencies.'' Registration forms may be returned in the envelope provided and those not eligible should send them back as a "NIL return''.

Additional forms are available at the Parliamentary Registration Office in the Government Administration Building, Parliament Street, or at Government Information Services, Global House, Church Street.
