children to use the public bathroom at Albuoy's Point, Pembroke.

The incident is said to have occurred just after 2 p.m. on Thursday.

Police spokesperson Evelyn James-Barnett said the woman dropped off her children to use the rest room in the ferry terminal building while she parked the car outside.

As she did so, the 41-year-old Southampton woman noticed a man enter the bathroom.

Mrs. James-Barnett said the woman followed the man and told him he would have to leave the area as it was the ladies' rest room.

"It was then that the man allegedly pinned the woman against the wall and sexually assaulted her,'' she said. "Her screams alerted a woman who was entering the restroom who tried to stop the man as he fled.'' A Police officer, who happened to be driving by, gave chase on foot and was able to catch the man in the Washington Mall area where he was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station.

Police investigations were continuing.
