an attempted break-in at a restaurant.

Around 4.45 a.m. their attention was drawn to a noise coming from the rear of the restaurant, a Police spokesman said.

They quietly crept to the scene and discovered a 19-year-old Paget man in the act of breaking in.

He was arrested and a court appearance is expected.

GUILTY TO DRUNK DRIVING CTS A Paget man pleaded guilty to drunk driving this week in Magistrates' Court.

Carlos Ledo, a 29-year-old landscaper of South Road, Paget required an interpreter to admit the offence to Senior Magistrate, the Wor. Will Francis.

Sgt. Rex Osborne, prosecuting, said that at 2 a.m. on August 9, Police saw Ledo nearly collide with the north roundabout on Crow Lane. When stopped, a strong smell of alcohol was detected on Ledo's breath.

Ledo told Mr. Francis that he he'd had a few drinks, but felt he was not drunk.

Mr. Francis fined Ledo $400 and took him off the road for 12 months.

POLICE SEEK HELP CRM Police investigating a "malicious'' window smashing on Washington Lane in Hamilton are seeking public assistance.

The broken window, at Bermuda Galleries, was discovered last Saturday night just after 10 p.m. Nothing was stolen from the store.
