The trio sprang into action after the woman was rushed into Somerset Police Station just after midnight yesterday.

At one stage the 37-year-old Warwick woman stopped breathing.

But she was resuscitated by Sgt. Roseanda Jones, P.c. Paul Hitchens, and P.c.

McDonald Hinds.

The woman was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, and was said to be resting comfortably in a general ward yesterday.

Police spokesman Sgt. John Dale said the woman had suffered a severe asthma attack.

"The officers stood by all the time should there have been a cardiac arrest.'' Sgt. Dale added: "All Police officers are taught first aid to quite a high standard. "More often than not we are first on the scene and have to administer first aid of all kinds.'' The incident occurred less than 24 hours after Police officers failed to save the life of a woman at Sonesta Beach.

Ms Annette Accarino, of Massachusetts, was in her early seventies and on holiday.

Her body was found in the water around 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday.

P.c. Nicholas Pedro and P.c. Dean Stanford tried in vain to resuscitate her.
