woman's apartment and sexually assaulting her has been fired from the Police Service.

Andrew Robinson, 28, was relieved of his duties as a constable effective last Monday.

He had been suspended on full pay since the charges surfaced days after the July 25, 1993 incident.

It took 31 separate Magistrates' Court appearances before Magistrate the Wor.

Cheryl Ann Mapp found him guilty, but Robinson's wait is far from over.

He will be sentenced on January 19, 1995. Mrs. Mapp also ordered a social inquiry report.

Mrs. Mapp said she was satisfied the Crown discharged its duty.

During the year-long trial the defence claimed the woman, who has since returned to Britain, knew Robinson socially and had an attraction to him.

But the Crown denied the woman had ever met or spoken to Robinson before she awoke to find him in her bed. She was startled and called Police.
